How to wear a half-face respirator correctly?
Oct 15, 2024
- Adjust the headband size (if possible) for a comfortable fit on your head and loosen the straps.
- Place the respirator over your mouth and nose, then pull the headband over the top of your head.
- Connect the bottom straps at the back of your neck.
- Adjust the strap tension for a secure fit. Start with the adjustment points at the top of the respirator, then move to the adjustment points at the back of the neck.
- Do not overtighten. You can reduce the strap tension by pushing the buckle on the back of the strap outward.
- Check the position in a mirror or ask a colleague to confirm if it is worn correctly, and make adjustments if necessary.
- Perform a user seal check (fit test) according to the user manual. If a leak is detected, adjust the fit, or if a good seal cannot be achieved, look for another respirator model that fits you better.
