Types of Safety Shoes

The safety shoes produced by our company mainly include the following types:

1

High Safety Boots Wellingtons

Composite toe cap Protects toes against impacts of at least 200 joules and pressure loading of at least 15 kN. It also weighs less than the conventional steel cap.

2

Low Cut Safety Shoes

Low-cut safety shoes are safety shoes with a lower collar that falls below the ankle. They are a good choice when ankle protection is less important, and comfort and flexibility are more important.

3

Ankle Safety Boots

Certified to EN ISO 20345:2011 S3 SRC standards, our safety boot meets the strictest safety requirements for workplace footwear. The dual density PU outsole offers excellent slip resistance, oil resistance, and shock absorption, ensuring optimal performance on various surfaces.

4

Non Slip Shoe Covers

High elastic NBR anti-slip shoe covers are designed to provide excellent anti-slip protection on slippery surfaces with oil and water, and have excellent anti-slip and waterproof functions.

Use of Safety Shoes in Various Industries

Protection from Sharp Objects
In industries where workers encounter sharp objects scattered on the floor, footwear with thicker, anti-penetrative materials, and heavy-duty soles provides the best protection. This ensures the safety of the soles and the surrounding foot area from sharp object penetration.

Protection from Electrical Hazards
Industries where electricity is a major component pose significant risks due to static or electrical accumulation. Workers face life-threatening risks from electric shocks caused by sparks. Thus, non-conductive footwear made from rubber, leather, or other non-conductive materials is essential. In settings where static buildup must be prevented, anti-static footwear is necessary to reduce spark accumulation on workers’ bodies.

Preventing Falls, Slips, or Trips

In industries with water, slippery surfaces, or other elements, high precautions must be taken to avoid slipping or falling. These accidents are common and account for a high percentage of workplace incidents. Workers must wear proper anti-slip footwear to prevent such accidents in slippery environments.

Protection from Burns

In industries involving chemicals and fire, workers risk burns. To prevent such injuries, workers should wear footwear made from durable materials designed to resist burning.

Protection from Heavy Objects

In environments where workers handle heavy objects, machinery, or vehicles, footwear with steel toe boots is crucial to prevent injuries caused by falling or flying objects. A good pair of steel-toe boots helps workers avoid accidents and injuries.

Materials of Safety Shoes

踝关节安全鞋

Steel

A steel toe cap is the most widely used material as it is the most economical and provides a lot of safety. However, one should make sure not to use it in the electric industry.

高跟安全鞋

Aluminium

This material is a little more expensive than steel but can prevent injuries due to electricity.

十大安全鞋

Carbon fiber

It is a costly material; however, it is thin, non-conductor of electricity, and is light in weight which makes it the best material to manufacture toe caps.

Safety Shoes Manufacturing Methods

Molded Safety Shoes
Molding is a safety shoes manufacturing method that involves injecting liquid sole material (PVC, PU, or EVA) in a mold and infusing it with the shoe upper (vamp). Injection-molded shoes are also produced by applying uncured rubber and using heat and pressure to fuse it with the vamp. Most industrial safety shoes are made using this method as it produces a seamless and lasting vamp-sole joint.

Goodyear Welted Safety Shoes
In this method, a piece of leather called welt is stitched to attach it to the shoe upper before stitching the whole shoe to the sole. The welt allows for sole replacement without causing damage, which makes welted shoes easy to repair. Goodyear welted safety shoes are ideal for work environments that contain uneven surfaces as they offer adequate torsion control.

Cemented Safety Shoes
This safety shoes manufacturing method involves gluing the sole to the vamp. Cementing is fast and saves on manufacturing costs. The type of glue that unites the shoe vamp and sole must be very strong, or the two parts will not hold to each other for long. Cemented shoes are generally lightweight and suited for jobs that involve flat surfaces.

Safety Tips for Safety Shoes

Proper fit

Look for a shoe that fits in the length and the width. A proper fitting shoe will prevent excessive pressure on specific areas of the foot, such as the sides of the foot and at the toes. The proper fit is especially important in safety shoes because of the narrowing at the toe due to the steel toe. The steel toe is not forgiving when there is a small pressure point, causing a large irritation for a smaller area.

A shoe suited for the work

Work on wet or slippery floors need a shoe that is slip resistant and possibly water resistant. The style of shoe needs to fit in with the work environment. A higher boot may be necessary if the environment calls for it, such preventing liquids from entering in your boot. A higher boot will not prevent you from rolling an ankle, but it may help remind you to readjust if your foot is on a slight angle.

Rocker Soles

Most safety shoes will have a rocker sole. A rocker sole is a curved sole at the toe to help when pushing off the back leg. If a larger rocker sole is needed for a specific condition, it can be added to the existing work boot. A rocker sole can also be added to the heel when necessary. This becomes helpful to reduce stress when the heel contacts the floor for conditions such as ankle arthritis.

Add support when necessary

Because of the features required to make a safety shoe safe, it can lack in support and cushioning. A custom foot orthotic or over the counter insert may be necessary to prevent pain from foot mechanics or lack of shock absorption.

Replace when needed

When your safety shoes wear out over time, it can affect your comfort as well as safety. When the shoe wears out, it doesn’t absorb as much shock, which can cause pain in joints and other structures. A worn-out shoe can also exaggerate motions in your foot. The shoe can push your foot one way or the other and create stress and strain to your foot and leg structures. When working in environments with oils and other liquids, the boot can absorb this over time and become heavy. A heavier boot can tire you out more quickly.

FAQ

Q: What should safety shoes have?

A: Safety shoes or boots must have a leather upper, non-skid soles, oil resistance and impact and compression resistance ratings of 75. The shoes must also have built-in toe caps to meet requirements.

Q: Should I size down in safety shoes?

A: Safety Toe shoes need to be fit about a half size larger than normal footwear. Since there is hard cap in shoe there is no stretch in toe box area. You do not want your toes touching the end of the safety shoe.

Q: How long does it take to break in safety shoes?

A: This can vary slightly depending on the material your new safety footwear is made from. A general guideline however is that you should allow a couple weeks for wearing work boots in. This will help ensure you can wear them for prolonged periods without experiencing any pain or discomfort.

Q: How do I know my safety shoe size?

A: Draw a line behind your heel and another line in front of your longest toe. Don't worry, it's common to have one foot be longer than the other, so use the longer foot to measure. Measure the distance between the two lines in centimetres and find your measurement on the size chart to get your best fit.

Q: Should safety shoes be tight or loose?

A: They should feel neither loose nor too tight. But they must feel snug and protective. Like swaddling a baby in a blanket. You should most certainly feel some resistance or pressure (you need to know they are there) but you shouldn't feel any pain.

Q: How to wear safety shoes properly?

A: Step 1: Dry your feet and socks. Moisture and comfort don't go hand in hand.
Step 2: Put on your socks.
Step 3: Wear the safety shoes.
Step 4: Move your feet back and forth.
Step 5: Tie the shoelaces.
